Canton DE Brennen Beyer Commits to Michigan

Beyer is a four-star prospect.

Finally, some good news: Canton DE Brennen Beyer, a four-star, committed to Michigan today ($). Beyer is on campus this weekend for the spring game, and announced his intentions to play for the Maize and Blue after taking in Thursday’s practice. He held offers from Louisville, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas Tech, UCLA, Northwestern, and others, but the lifelong Michigan fan was long thought to be a lock for the Wolverines.

At 6-4, 215 pounds, Beyer seems destined for a Craig Roh-like role once he comes to Ann Arbor, either as an outside linebacker in the 3-3-5 or the quick end in the defense Michigan used last season. He is a great addition to the 2011 class, and with a four-star talent signed on at DE, Rich Rodriguez and his staff can now focus on landing top talent at other positions.

Beyer is the fourth commit for the Wolverines in his class. For more on class of 2011 recruiting, click here. For more on Beyer’s commitment, make sure to check out MGoBlog’s commitment post.
